Hi there!
How is going your day off?
Today's thoughts are the results of 'Flipped Classroom material'.
A thing I would like to state in advance ,not beacuse I want to be a spoilsport of new and innovative ideas but just being a little realistic this type of teaching and lecturing might need a couple of years to be implemented in our schools.
That's for no reason the link was under the tittle 'edutopia'. I interpreted as an idealistic educational setting .
However, there's hope things take a postive turn in our educational system .
My thoughts on the flipped classroom I attended last week :
I guess that was a quite fantastic way to deal with the idea of flipped classrooms. Our connditions weren't the best ever expected but some of us managed to cope with it some in their phones, some in their PC connecting here and there and others including me went to a internet center.
We gretted each other , then we were asked to watch a video that was well choosen to keep our mouth shout and learn how to use and in the future make use of this type of educational setting and not to be the old-fashioned teacher that can't use technology.
Then, was asked to give feedback with 3 to 6 senences on the video. This is a good way ,firstly to measure students' attention, secondly to measure students comprehension and the end ask us to reflect by promoting writting skills.
This is what I am eager to use as future teacher.
After this we waited for our comments to appear in the list so our firends' comments too,so we can reply and answer them back .
This is another thing that I would do for leading into disscussion even if it os written form.I would also take that into a speaking disscussion if the flipped class is about to take place in the classroom environment .
We were asked to ask for clarification if there was neccessary to for our upcoming assignment . That's quite good to be used , students need to be clear in order to accomplish their task successfully.
While reading I found that TED-ED animations videos offered chances to ask questions and add our notes ,that would be great in my lessons. It gives students oppourtunity to clarify the ideas transmitted ,to interact ,to leave their thought and this gives a more realistic sense and real use of language.
Adding to this , a more affordable way to implement videos is by using comercials in the class.
The use of flipped classrooms would be a revolution.
Your first paragraph gave me the idea that you were the only one who were not so enthusiastic about using this kind of model in your future career. Then, when I read your sentence that there is hope,I felt somehow relieved. You have then shared some of the benefits of flipping our classes.Your last sentence seems ambiguous to me.You're either sceptical about the use of this model,or you think that education will change with the use of flipped classrooms.
ReplyDeleteAmbiguity is made purposfully.I 'm glad you noticed it.
DeleteIn fact I think that this kind of ambiguity will accomay us every time we want to implement any of these "prinipled theories" into practice.
Flipped classrooms are a very modern and high-tech concept imagine then the practice of it.
In our country, when we discuss about large number of students in a class , mean that we have a lot of work ahead.
Still, is applicable we just need a better infrastructure.
The use of flipped classrooms would be a revolution. That was the sentence that made me read your post twice. In fact, Arjola, I was wondering whether do you really agree with your last sentence?
ReplyDeleteI looked a little pesimist in the entry of this post.
DeleteThe use of technology and teaching and learning online it would be a revalution for real when really start being applied in our country.
Yes,I do belive that when we make use of these classes drastic changes will be made in teaching process
Haha you made laugh and get dissapointed a little bit at your first sentences, as you say it is an idealistic method. Hm, I do not think that it is that idealistic because if you have the right tools to apply it you can make it. As I continued reading further on, I realized that you are enthusiastic about using this method if you have the opportunities. Good job.
ReplyDeleteThank you Izzabeta .
DeleteI have mixed feeling I feel enthusiastic about it but also think in terms of our educational setting and then feel a bit lost.
I've explained to Suela too that these kind of ambigious attitudes will accomay us every time we encounter changes .
