Making use of PBL and some ideas to be used!

Feeling inspired today!😊
Project based Learning isn't like the projects we did and still do in most of our school subjects and courses.
PBL is an approach that it structures its curriculum around projects. It seems like a word play, right? Well, it is quite a bit but that's beacuse of our idea of projects has been misunderstood.Traditionally, projects were some tasks we had and have to come up with at the end of a certain amount of information. It's like the exams we do,we are assessed on how do we perform our new taught information. It's the product of our learning, to put in simple words.

On the other hand, Project based learning is an approach not a task to be completed .
It is focused on the process of learning rather than its result. The processes students go through while trying to do the project teaches them practical skills of researching and finding solution for the problems they are guided to look for ,however the path they decide to investigate is in Ss's hands.
I'm not just enthusiastic about implementation of this approach I'm more then that;I'm eager to use it .
Here the teacher is the guider, that works on directing Ss to right paths of researching and also giving clear instruction on how to operate.
It's an approach of this era, of the 21st century that requires students to develop real world skills ,to find soulutions for real problems.
Some ideas would be: To create a photo documentary then turning it into a film documentary.
To start or run a bussiness of which Ss are aware of its impact on the world.
To help a local bussiness market itself(creating a proposal, presenting to other bussinesses.
To identify a musical genre and the to write and perform a song that fits that genre.
To create and manage a Youtube channel for authentic purposes. And so many other ideas....
Now, help me out!
Let's suppose we are the curriculum's designers and we are asked to make 10 Topics on the projects that will cover knowledge of English language for advanced adults of this gruopage(18-25 )

■■■■ Please, share at least one of your "project topics considering PBL approach!

  2. I was thinking about one topic that could be related to your idea, and I think that as long PBL has to do with problem solving , a good topic would be: "Solving the problem with fake news" . About your post I would have suggested you to have written more about the way how you will apply it as a teacher.

  4. It's good to read that you have started your post with such a good clarification of this approach by emphasizing that PBL is not a project itself.I do agree with you that this PBL is an approach and not a task to be completed.I really appreciate the fact that you have given some real topics in the end, topics that we may consider even in our future careers.Thank u for sharing them with us.

  5. I like the fact that you have clearly pointed the fact that PBL is used for solving real life problems and the suggestions you have provided in the end make up for it.
    Good job.

  6. An idea might be creating a YT channel entirely faithful to English grammar where each student should create at least one video that has to do with grammar. They all will be engaged.

    1. Such an idea Kleant!
However, this could be assigned to upper-intermediate and advanced students,as it requires good mastery of the grammar and also good technological skills.

Web Based Seminars

Hi there! Hope you doing well! Webinars are too exhausting 😉,especially for young ages and low-leveled students. Also, require high-technology . Delivering a lecture or a presentation would be great but it's necessary to sequence the things that are going to be explained and disscussed in the course of webinar to hold student's attention. I'd have  gone for my diploma thesis using webinars to lecture it. I've presented it but live ,after completing Bachelor's studies on 'Learning Disorders:Dyslexia'. Now,that I encounter webinars ,it would be fantastic to do it this way. I'd choose a place comfortable for me and start my presentation while having my lectureres there and also my collegues that would be invited to answer and post their on-spot questions. This is a good way for the assesors of my thesis to judge my preparation. PROCEDURE:I would start with a presentation of key issues (-1.what are disorders in learning? - 2.what are some language l...
